Paint Correction by Detail Xperts

Paint Correction

Paint correction is the process of removing defects from the clear coat rather than hiding them. It is measured, inspection-led work, and results depend entirely on the paint in front of us.

The problem

Swirl marks from poor washing, buffer trails, water spotting and light scratches break up reflections and make paint look tired even when it is clean.

Our approach

A staged approach: decontaminate, inspect, test, then correct with the least aggressive combination that resolves the defect, followed by refinement.

Process

How the paint correction is performed

  1. 01

    Wash and decontamination

All surface contamination is removed first.

  2. 02

    Inspection

Paint is inspected under dedicated lighting to identify defect type and depth.

  3. 03

    Test section

A test area establishes the least aggressive process that works on your paint.

  4. 04

    Correction stage

Defect removal performed panel by panel with checks throughout.

  5. 05

    Refinement

A finishing stage maximizes gloss and removes any haze from correction.

  6. 06

    Protection

Protection options are discussed once the paint is corrected.

Benefits

What you get out of it

  • Reduced or removed swirl marks and haze
  • Sharper reflections and deeper gloss
  • An honest assessment of what your paint can achieve
  • A clean base if you plan to add a coating

Included

What the service covers

  • Full decontamination wash
  • Paint inspection and documentation
  • Test section to set the process
  • Multi-stage machine correction
  • Refinement stage
  • Post-correction protection discussion

Clear coat is finite. Some defects are too deep to remove safely, and we will tell you that before starting rather than after.
